Second Coach Trip 2014

On 26th September, 47 members, family and friends boarded the coach at Oak Grove and set off for RHS Wisley. The weather was, once again, kind to us for the day trip. I hope I don't bring us bad luck for next year by saying this, but on every occasion we have visited Wisley Gardens we have had fine weather. It was warm enough to sit on the benches and admire the gardens. There was additional interest as our visit coincided with the Surrey Sculpture Society Trail. There were over 60 sculptures placed around the gardens, and all for sale. You will notice some of the art in the selection of photos.

Whilst our visit was at the end of Summer a few of us remarked how much colour was still abundant. I find these visits are always thought provoking - what could I do differently in my own garden and could I successfully grow the particular plants that grab my attention? There were a few plants in the hold of the coach on our return home and I hope they settle into their new homes in Eastcote.

This was the second coach trip of the year and I will be planning more for 2015. If you have any ideas on where you would like to go please email the society or drop a note into the Trading Hut.
