The Apiales is an order of flowering plants including the original 2 families Araliaceae (ivy / ginseng family) and Apiaceae (carrot family) with another 8 families added more recently.
 
Succulent species in this order are found in the genus Cussonia (cabbage trees) within the family Araliaceae and the halophyte succulent Crithmum maritinum in the family Apiaceae.
