Autumn Show Report - 9 th September 2023
 
The show was towards the end of a week of extreme heat, which was challenging for the plants and also for the exhibitors. With the outside temperatures being so high it was a pleasant surprise to see so many people taking part.
 
We had more entries in this show than we had seen for a while. We also had a number of new exhibitors across most sections of the show. St Vincents' Nursing Home hadn't exhibited for a few years and it was lovely to see them back. They had produced some lovely handicraft entries.
 
Our band of volunteers was joined by a couple of newcomers, which is so helpful. Whether it's helping with the cafe, setting up the show or taking it down, there are lots of jobs to do and we have a super team which makes it all happen.
 
When almost all the homemade cake is gone by the end of the afternoon, this is another sign of a successful show. There is a buzz in the hall as folks meet up over a cuppa and enjoy the displays.
 
The third and final show of the year has ended on a high and we look forward to building on this success in 2024. The dates for the three shows in 2024 are on our website and the Show Schedules will be posted online at the beginning of the year. Look forward to seeing you then.
