Coach Trip to Polesden Lacey
- a National Trust property near Dorking on Saturday 26 th September 2026.
We had a gloriously sunny, warm day for the trip. We arrived by 10 am and it was quiet in the coffee shop at that time. Some of us joined the 15 minutes introductory talk outside the house which was informative on the history.
At 11.45 am a number from our group joined the hour long garden tour. This was led by a volunteer gardener who had been working at Polesden Lacey for fifteen years. She was very knowledgeable and made this an interesting session. The route walked us along the long herbaceous borders to the vegetable garden and flower cutting beds, through the rose garden, passing the Lady's Garden and pet cemetery.
It was a perfect day for sitting in the sun on a bench or deckchair, to enjoy the extensive views of the Surrey Hills.
Our group made use of the cafe and coffee shop as well as the plant sales and gift shop.
