Spring Show 2025

Spring Show Report - 15 th March 2025

We held the Spring Show on Saturday 15th March and this was first show in our Society's 85th year. It was a perfect Spring day, rather chilly but with bright sunshine. The stars of this Show are the daffodils and the Society's members produced some stunning examples of the various kinds of daffodils which made a beautiful display in the hall. There was the greatest number of entries into the photography classes that the Society has ever seen. Baking has also become more popular and exhibits included delicious chocolate fudge cakes and banana loaves.

The show was setup during the morning with the show benches laid out with assistance from a team of volunteers including some from our sponsor, Robert Cooper Estate Agents.

The Spring Show and Annual Awards for 2024 were presented by the Worshipful the Mayor of Hillingdon, Cllr Colleen Sullivan. We were delighted to have the Mayor and Mayoress at the show. There was a special award presented on behalf of the Royal Horticultural Society, the "Certificate of Recognition" which is given to someone who has gone the extra mile during the last year. This is the first time our Society has presented this Certificate and the Mayor presented it to Alan Thomas. Alan has run the Trading Hut for the Eastcote Horticultural Society for many decades, providing a valued service to the local community. He leads the Society's participation at other local events and gives gardening advice to anyone in need. His knowledge and "green fingers" have won him countless prizes over the years. The Society is indebted to Alan for his many years of service and, it is hoped, many more years to come. On receiving the award from the Mayor, Alan generously acknowledged the help he has from an active team of volunteers at the Trading Hut.

The Society is already planning for the next show, the Summer Show, on Saturday 14th June.
